CIC Data: 207,430-Permanent-Residence-Visas in 9 months!

In a recent release today, CIC Canada announced that she issued 207,430 permanent residence visa from Jan 2009 to Sept. 2009. CIC Minster said :
 “We are demonstrating our commitment to transparency and open government by ensuring that our most requested data is up-to-date, easily accessible and posted in a timely manner” .


In another table: 135,890 applications are awaiting decisions since the new regulations, and the backlog has decreased by 40%, which makes it possible for new applicants to obtain their visas in a year.


Also, 118,662 citizenship applications were approved and granted to new citizenship during the period from Jan 2009 to Sept. 2009.7




After an issuance of a PR visa, new or intending immigrants have up to 12 months to relocate to Canada.
New residents can apply for the Canadian citizenship after they live in Canad for 1095 days in four years.
