Skilled workers selected by Quebec: How to Apply

1. Get a Québec Selection Certificate ( CSQ ).

2. Obtain the application package and print it.

The kit includes the application guide and all the forms you must fill. Download and print the application package .

3. Fill out the application form.

Complete the forms to the computer and when finished:
validate the generic application form for Canada [IMM 0008] online and print the page with the bar code, and sign where indicated. Please include the page with the barcode on your request.
other print forms (you can not save them on your computer) and sign where indicated.
Answer all questions carefully and sincerely. Any incomplete package will be returned without processing.
You must complete all forms, including:

  • Generic application form for Canada [IMM 0008]
  • Appendix 1: Background / Declaration
  • Appendix 5: Declaration of intent to reside in Quebec
  • Additional information on the family
  • Use of a representative. It is not mandatory to complete this form. You must fill in only if you require the assistance of a representative to submit your application. The use of a Representative is a personal choice. Here you will find more information on immigration representatives .

4. Calculate the costs.

You will pay:

processing fee for yourself and your dependents. This fee must be paid at time of application. They are not refundable even if your application is refused;
costs related to the right of permanent residence for you and your spouse or common-law partner accompanying you, if any. You should pay this fee if your application is approved. They must be paid before Citizenship and Immigration Canada will issue your permanent resident visa. This fee is refundable if the application is canceled if it is refused or if you do not use your visa.
You will also pay third parties to:

your medical examination;
a police certificate, if you need to produce;
language assessment, if necessary.

5. Check your application.

Make sure that:

your application and all other forms are completed and signed;
processing fees are included;
all necessary supporting documents are included.
Use the checklist included in the guide (Appendix A) to make sure you have not forgotten anything.

You must also include your Quebec Selection Certificate.

CIC will not process your request if there are missing documents or payment processing fees or if your forms are not completed and signed. To verify that your application is complete and therefore to avoid delays in treatment, confirm the generic application form for Canada [IMM 0008] online, print the page with the barcode and attach it to your application.

6. Submit your application.

Mail your application and fees to the Centralized Intake Office in Sydney, Nova Scotia (Canada) . For more information, including e-mail addresses and postal addresses, see the application package for provincial nominees .

Do not submit your application to the visa office responsible for your country of nationality or residence.
